Bonarte
When my family and I moved into our new home in the mid 90s, I designed the curtains and blinds for all the rooms. While I did not set up shop just then, I always received requests from friends to help them with their window treatments. One summer day in May, I decided to set shop and Bonarte was born! I was fortunate to do some great and creatively fulfilling projects in India and abroad. My daughter, Devika joined the Bonarte team in 2015. Today, we liken ourselves to be a dynamic duo who enjoy working in a creative field with interesting people. My love story with design and aesthetics continues joyously.

After studying Economics at the University of Nottingham, UK, working in the Consumer Insight team at Nestle India for two and a half years and then procuring my Masters in Comparative Business Economics at University College London, I moved back to Delhi in 2014. I decided to shadow my mother for a year to learn the ropes at Bonarte which had been growing rapidly. While my education was not centred on design, it taught me greatly on how to successfully manage a home grown business. I learnt on the job and was fortunate to receive solo projects within my first year. Over the years, I have helped expand the portfolio of our work. Bonarte is our pride and joy. It has enhanced my artistic and technical knowledge. I learn from my mother, team and clients every day. Finding the right fabric story with clients and collaborators while designing and executing is my favourite part of the process.
